Yove Parish Church
Cyangugu Diocese is one among Catholic Dioceses in Rwanda. Cyangugu Diocese has 13 parishes. The latter are not localized in the same area and the life of their Christians differs from one parish to another. One of these parishes is located in the risk zone and it has poverty. This poor parish is known on the name of “Yove.”

This parish has more than 12,000 Catholic Christians. The parish has school where children acquire knowledge from, but it doesn’t have enough students because of the long distance; they have to walk a long and bad street from their home to school. Many children do not go to school because poverty and others because they live far from the school. One room cannot get over 20 students.

Yove parish is always searching the welfare of its population even though it seems to be so difficult to get means because of the poverty in its area. It is far from the main road and to reach the place is so expensive. When it is during rain season you cannot any transport except using foot. The people there walk on foot the long distance. You cannot get any car there except one of the parish and the other for the Exacutive Secretary of Yove sector.

Father Janvier is on the head of those who are in charge of the development of the parish and the area where his parish is located as well. Father Janvier is trying to search some help to help his parish and its poor Christians. At the parish, the rooms used are taken as offices and the guest bedroom at the same time. Father Janvier and his colleagues walk on foot in visiting their Christians.
